The BGC Gaviatas is a nationally ranked synchronized swim team from upstate New York. We are affiliated with the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome in Endicott, NY, a suburb of Binghamton. Our team, which began more than 45 years ago, has had several different names over the years but has always been a part of the Boys and Girls Club.

Our group of swimmers ranges in age from 6 to 18 years. The swimmers are placed on various teams based on their age, experience, and ability. The teams practice between two and four days a week, depending on their team. Basic swimming strokes, synchronized swimming figures and techniques are integrated with yoga and specialized stretching to strengthen the swimmers.

The BGC Gaviatas coaches strive to instill life skills in the swimmers along with physical and mental aspects of synchronized swimming. Our coaches focus on constructive criticism to support positive self esteem. This helps the swimmers develop as a team--supporting one another--and personally, learning skills that will help them in and out of the pool throughout their lives.
